Serving the Catholic Community of Castro Valley

Thanksgiving Day Liturgy

Our Lady of Grace Parish will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 24th at 9:00am.

Bring your families’ Bread & Wine that you will serve to be blessed!

There is much to be thankful for in our lives and this is a good time to consider ways of helping those around us who are in need.

Food & Gift Card Donations

St. Vincent de Paul will be taking donations of food, cash and gift cards beginning the weekend of November 19th & 20th, before Thanksgiving Day.

Our greatest needs are: peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, fruit cups, canned soup, granola bars, boxed or packet fruit drinks, packages of peanut butter or cheese crackers, and individual chip snack bags.

We can also use: Safeway or Lucky cards (for families that are able to shop and prepare their own dinners), Shari’s cards (for our single clients and couples who are unable to cook), and checks made out to “St. Vincent de Paul” (to help with the many calls we are getting for help with rent and utilities.)

Food or gift cards that are brought the weekend of November 19th & 20th, before Thanksgiving, may be placed in front of the Altar either before or after Mass.

Warm Coat Drive-November & December

SVdP is also collecting new and gently used coats, sleeping bags and blankets. Our main need is men’s coats in larger sizes; but we will accept women’s and children’s sizes too. Collection barrels are located at the Somerset entrance of the church and in the Parish Office. Please do not leave other articles of clothing at this time.

If you know someone in our community that could use help, please call our SVdP line at 510-581-2164.  If you are interested in joining our ministry, please contact Heidi at 510-881-7850. Please pray for us and for those whom we are helping.

As always—we greatly appreciate your generosity! We could not do this ministry without your support.
