ONE-DAY PILGRIMAGE

Faithful from the Diocese of Oakland are invited to a day of deep spiritual reflection in celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the Transitus of St. Francis of Assisi in 1226. Join us for a pilgrimage featuring a rigorous, faith-filled schedule across the Diocese, beginning at 8:00am at Old Mission San Jose in Fremont and concluding at 4:30pm at St. Francis of Assisi in Concord.
Pilgrims are encouraged to arrange carpools early due to tight travel windows between stops. Lunch and snacks are self-provided. A prayer guide will be prepared and distributed, so kindly RSVP by emailing rector@oakdiocese.org.
During the Jubilee (January 10, 2026 to January 10, 2027) the Apostolic Penitentiary, by the will of the Holy Father, grant a Plenary Indulgence under the usual conditions, sacramental confession, Holy Communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father. This indulgence may also be offered for the Souls in Purgatory.
The indulgence is granted to members of the Franciscan Family, and all the faithful who take part in the Jubilee by visiting a Franciscan church or any place connected to St. Francis anywhere in the world by spending time in prayer or reflection, and praying for charity, harmony, and peace among peoples.
Our Lady of Grace Church is one of these pilgrimage sites.
The prayers conclude with the Our Father, the Creed, and invocations to the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Clare, and all the Saints of the Franciscan Family.
